Words and Music at7.30 p.m. on Thursday, 8th March, at Withington Methodist

Church led by Ian Mutton

ON WEDNESDAYS IN LENT at 12.30 p.m. in Room 3, on February 22nd and

29th,  March 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th, we are holding a Soup and Fruit devotional

Lunch, with donations going to the Leprosy Mission. Volunteers are needed to

provide soup. Please see Hazel Hicks if you can help.

SUNDAY CLUBMembers of the congregation may have noticed we have had a

recent welcome increase in Sunday Club members. With this in mind we would

welcome offers of extra help on Sunday morning so, if you fancy a bit of craft

 activity or stimulating conversation, please see Angela Johnson or come along to

 the next Sunday Club MeetingTuesday, 21st February 7:30pm in the vestry. All

offers of help are welcome even if it is only once every 3 months. Thanking you in

anticipation.

FAVOURITE BIBLE VERSES The booklet of OUR favourite Bible verses,

published as part of our celebrations of the Year of The Bible, is now available

FREE at the back of church.

ADOPT-A-COP New topics for prayer from our local Police Force:

* Theft from vehicles around the Tesco/Parrs Wood area during afternoons and

evenings.   

* Youths causing annoyance in Fog Lane Park between 19.00 and 03.00,

Thursday-Saturday.

* Alcohol-related anti-social behaviour, particularly noise and rowdiness from

people leaving   licensed premises in Didsbury Village - Wilmslow Road between

23:00 and 01:00.

'GLAMOROUS NIGHT - A CONCERT FOR SHEILA FILDES' onSaturday, 17th  

March,2012 at 7.30 p.m. at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church, Ramillies Avenue, off StationRoad,SK8

7ALTickets are £10in aid of The Christie Charity. Thank you to those who have already donated to The

Christie Charity. Donations are to the Gynaecology Medical Oncology team as they looked after Sheila so

caringly. This is a special concert in memory of Sheila, and the children and I want to have a lovely

evening with our friends and family to celebrate Sheila's life through the music which was so very dear to

her. The evening will feature songs from musical theatre, opera, operetta and firm old favourites. It will

also be an evening of fun and laughter. There will be a professional M.C. with some fine professional

singers and hope that it really will be a 'Glamorous Night'. It will be an informal evening but thespian

friends might want to 'dress up'. Many friends who were unable to attend the funeral have already

expressed an interest in comingso may I ask you to contact me within the next week or soas we will be

offering them for sale to the general public in a few weeks. (When paying for tickets, pleasemake

EXCITING ART PROJECTwhich Sanctus 1 is rolling out in City Centre

Manchester. We are placing 24 art installations around the City Centre based on

the theme of shrineswith the idea of trying to get people to re-engage with sacred

space. These installations are being placed at various locations (indoors and out)

and we are releasing a new shrine every day in Advent (a bit like an advent

calendar). Each installation is photographed and blogged and awaiting

comments. You can follow the progress of the event
